Happy Easter!
I love Easter and the opportunity that it gives me to reflect on my Savior and what He does for me.
There have been times in my life that I have felt like Mary as she knelt by the empty tomb. I have felt confused, alone, or unsure how to proceed. But I know that in those moments, Christ
is always near me. If I am just willing to turn towards Him, He will lighten my burden. He will calm my troubled heart. He will easy my pain. Because of His resurrection, our sorrow can be swallowed up by his sacrifice and replaced with everlasting joy.
Because Christ sacrificed for us, we receive
the great exchange

Because Christ sacrificed for us, we receive
the great exchange

He was perfect, that we might sin.
He drank the bitter, that we might enjoy the sweet.
He was alone, that we might never have to be.
He was questioned, that we might find the answers.
He was stripped, that we might be clothed.
He was crowned with thorns, that we might inherit the kingdom
He was mocked and despised, that we might experience genuine love.
He suffered, that we might find peace.
He felt sorrow, that we might find joy.
He went as a lamb to the slaughter, that we might have a shepherd
He was scourged, that we might be healed.
He thirsted, that we might drink living water
He was brought to the lowest of lows, that we might be exalted.
He died, that we might live.
I love the Savior with all of my heart. When the disciples Peter and John came to the sepulcher, they saw and believed. What did they see to make them believe? Nothing. They saw an empty tomb. I have walked through the tomb in Jerusalem, and like the disciples, I saw nothing. The tomb is empty still. But with the apostles, I testify that I believe. My Savior is risen. And those words resonate in the empty tomb today. He is risen is more than a phrase, it is an exclamation of hope. It is an affirmation of God's love. It is a proclamation of joy. It is a declaration of redemption. He Lives.
And because of Him, I live more fully.
